Keep Colorado Springs Queer is a collective of comedians, poets, and musicians in Colorado Springs who gather to showcase queer voices by creating a safe environment for artistic expression. Join the collective for a very special music & arts showcase at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center!

This event marks the closing date of FAC’s newest queer exhibit “Raízes/Roots: Transformations in Brazilian Art” a showcase of four contemporary Brazilian artists whose work addresses questions surrounding Brazilian national identity in the 21st century—including race, gender identity, sexuality, and the lingering consequences of colonialism. This exhibit was curated by Dr. Naomi Wood. To celebrate the success of the exhibit, Professor Wood will lead a free admission tour of the gallery before a stellar music showcase.

Local legend, Stoney Bertz, known for their “sharp lyricism and infectious flow,” will be burning up the stage first! “A product of the COS underground scene, Stoney Bertz has done nothing but bridge gaps continually through music; whether it be between the DIY and poetry scenes, the queer community and hip hop heads.” (from PULP News)

Keep Colorado Springs Queer is super excited to welcome back to the Springs Denver-based trio WheelChair Sports Camp, “Combining humor, playfulness, radical political perspectives, compassion and undeniable musical chops, Wheelchair Sports Camp is unlike any other hip-hop act around. Fronted by the wheelchair bound MC/beat-maker/activist/educator/shit-talker Kalyn, the band is a combination of live and electronic instruments with a more noisey, jazzy, experimental, combination to the traditional hip-hop group.”
